The Southwest Tennessee Community College – Macon Cove Campus, one of two main campuses, is located off the I-40 and I-240 expressways in the eastern part of the city. The campus has state-of-the-art facilities including a 106,000 square-foot two-story Academic Building and the two-story Bert Bornblum Library.

The campus serves as home for a majority of technology programs offered by Southwest including; Automotive, Computer, Engineering and other technical programs. Macon Cove is also home of the Southwest Culinary Institute and Corporate and Continuing Education programs.

Macon Cove’s 100-acre campus offers a suburban ambiance, enhanced by a quiet lake that provides year-round habitat to flocks of ducks and other waterfowl.


No housing is available on the campus. There are several hotels around the area. A list of the hotels that agreed on giving Institute participants a special rate will be posted soon. If you would like a roommate, please let us know. We are keeping a list.


Meals are the responsibility of the participant.  Meals are available on campus at the Food Court and nearby restaurants.

On the evening of Sunday, June 10, the Institute will provide a pizza dinner for all Institute participants.  Other family members may order a pizza dinner for $8.00.  Please indicate this on the registration form.  Each pizza dinner includes 2 slices from a variety of pizzas, dessert, and a drink.

There will be a cook-out on Monday, June 11 at 6:00pm. You may order a meal for $5.00.  Please indicate this on the registration form.  Meal will include choice of hamburger, cheeseburger or hot dog, chips, cake, and a drink.

Area Attractions

A wide variety of restaurants are within a short driving distance, as are many major attractions in the city, including the Children’s Museum, IMAX Theater and Pink Palace Museum, National Civil Rights Museum, Botanical Gardens, Memphis Zoo, Graceland, and Dixon Gallery and Gardens.
